Zach Wilson is in the WORST Situation EVER

The New York Jets pulled off a remarkable win over the Buffalo Bills 22-16 in overtime, however the highlight from the game is not the win, but QB Aaron Rodgers likely missing the season after playing just 4 snaps for his new team. The Jets came into the season with high expectations after trading for hall of fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. They pushed all of their chips in the middle and were hoping for a real playoff run with a loaded roster. The man who gets the short end of the stick in all of this is former 2nd overall pick Zach Wilson. He will now be back at the helm and all eyes are on him again. The thought with this trade was that Wilson, who struggled for his first two years in the NFL, will get to learn behind one of the all-time greats before getting another shot at starting. That chance seems to have now vanished and Wilson will be back under center for the Jets.

What makes this awful for Wilson is that he will now be playing with a bunch of guys who were BEGGING for Aaron Rodgers to come to the Jets and begging the front office to make the deal. He will be in the huddle with a bunch of guys that either did not want him to be the starter anymore or guys who were acquired by New York because of the Aaron Rodgers deal. If the Jets struggle from here on out, certainly the blame will go to Wilson. He did not play well last night, but he did get the job done and threw the game tying TD to Garett Wilson that kept the Jets in the game. Expectations are high for this team and a lot of pressure is on Wilson to step up in year 3 and take this loaded team to the playoffs. This will be Wilson’s last chance as a starter, so if he can get the job done, then he will save his career and be able to eventually be a franchise’s starting QB. May the odds ever be in your favor Zach!
