Week 4 College Card

It’s been a roller coaster of a start for me this season after going 7-1 in Week 1, 2-4 in Week 2, and 4-2 in Week 3. The trend calls for a down week, but this is the most confident I’ve been about a weekend slate all season. Here are my three favorite plays to hammer this weekend.

RICE AT ARMY

The Black Knights are better than people think and are led by one of the most underrated coaches in the sport in Jeff Monken. Army is fresh off an impressive road win at FAU and now get a Rice team at West Point who got trounced by Sam Houston at home in the opener and are less talented on both sides of the ball this season. I feel confident laying the points with Army.

The play: Army -7

CAL AT FLORIDA STATE

Choosing either side in this game is unbettable to me. FSU is completely deflated and has been the ultimate let down team after being squandered each week behind sloppy offense, poor QB play and being pushed around in the trenches. On the other hand, Cal looked good marching into Jordan Hare and beating Auburn two weeks ago, but another cross-country trip to a humid Tallahassee could induce some sluggishness. To me, this is an ugly, sloppy, low-scoring tussle that goes down to the wire.

The play: Under 44.5

GEORGIA SOUTHERN AT OLE MISS

Good teams win, great teams cover. The Rebels have done what they were supposed to do against inferior opponents this year and then some, covering with ease in each game so far. Georgia Southern surrendered 56 to Boise State at home and now has to deal with one of the most potent offenses in the sport on the road. The Lane Train keeps chugging along on Saturday and Ole Miss strolls to 4-0 ATS.

The play: Ole Miss -35 (Lock)
