Oklahoma State OVER 6.5 wins (-110)
Confidence level: 6/10
There are a handful of Power 5 schools being written off this preseason and I believe that Oklahoma State is one of them. Losing four notable starters, including quarterback Spencer Sanders, to the transfer portal stings. After a red-hot 6-1 start and being ranked as high as No. 7 in the nation in 2022, Okie State bottomed out and finished the season 7-6. A lot of concerns surround Mike Gundy’s program, as the recruiting has declined along with the ability to land superstars in the portal. And I mean, I get it.
While these doubts should not be overlooked, this was the same team that was INCHES away from winning a conference title two seasons ago. Under Gundy’s regime, Okie State has been a lightning rod of consistency, holding the sixth-longest active bowl appearance streak in the nation and failing to eclipse seven or more regular season wins just twice since 2007. They bring in quarterback Alan Bowman, who flashed a lot of potential a few years back at Texas Tech, the defense is improving, and they have the fourth-easiest schedule in the Big-12. I’m not overly confident on the Pokes this year, but a bowl-bound 7-5 season seems like the sweet spot for this squad. Peaking six wins is certainly a gamble but based off Gundy’s track record and ability to thrive in the underdog role, I have faith in OKST getting it done with O6.5 regular season dubs.
