Overreaction Monday (9/11/23)

Another weekend in the books for us football-consuming degenerates and since it’s Monday and we need stuff to talk about at work to get us through to Thursday, let’s overreact why don’t we?

OverreactionJoe Burrow’s career is about to go dumpster diving

Like many of y’all, I had him and Chase in my fantasy lineup yesterday… to say they sold is an understatement, but let’s not act like everyone plays the worst game of their careers right after they they sign an extension to acquire generational wealth. The Bengals will be fine, it just sucks to lose a game you should win.

Not an OverreactionThe Vikings will be picking Top-5 in the NFL Draft come April

Unlike the Bengals situation, the Vikings have an absolutely brutal schedule this year, playing all 4 conference championship teams + more. Beating Tampa Bay HAD to happen for this team to legit have a chance to win the division/make a run. This team could not afford to lose a game they should win. And after the performance of the O-Line (specifically Ed Ingram) I don’t know
if I see this team winning more than 6 games this year at the max. A 4-13 season could be due, but hey, at least then for the first time in forever the Vikings should have a highly-touted QB prospect under center.

OverreactionThe Chiefs won’t win the AFC West AND won’t be the top WC

The Chiefs desperately seem to need a WR (preferably one who can catch the ball). I have a hot take for y’all: 1 of 2 players will be on the Chiefs by the trade deadline… those players are Davante Adams or Mike Evans. I think they could slightly overpay any team and give their 1st this year & a 1st for a guy who will ultimately help you win the Super Bowl (again) is a fair price to pay in my opinion. Oh, and they’ll also be getting Kelce back.

Not an OverreactionBama’s reign of terror is over

Last year’s Bama team looked like one of the weaker teams Saban has ever had. Now I think we can safely say after that azzzzzzz whooooppin Texas gave them, I think it’s finally time that we start saying, the reign of terror is over! I’m not sayin they’re gonna go become Texas & Nebraska and be irrelevant for years on end, but the days of seeing the Tide on your schedule and marking an L there before you step on the field vs. them are over it appears. Saban is gonna have to figure something (especially at QB) or this won’t be people just starting to think it… it will officially be here!

Not an OverreactionToledo will be this year’s G5 team in the NY6

A last second FG loss @ Illinois in Week 1 followed by a 71-point outburst vs. Texas Southern on an already hyped up Toledo team. Yeahhhhh with that Tulane loss, I firmly believe the Rockets will be in the Cotton Bowl this year (or wherever they send them).
