Is it Really ‘Dem Boyz’ Year?

With week 1 of the 2023 NFL season officially underway, what team do you see hoisting the Lombardi in February? For me, it’s the Dallas Cowboys led by QB1 Dak Prescott. Everyone’s #1 question for Dallas is how Prescott will respond to his sub-typical season a year ago. Prescott doesn’t deserve the slander that has come this offseason from every sports network imaginable. Despite leading the NFL in interceptions (15), Prescott is tied for 9th ALL TIME in lowest career interception percentage and has led a top 3 offense in terms of points scored over the past two seasons. So why all the hate? Being the QB of America’s Team comes with unrealistic expectations.

The Cowboys offense, led by Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Tony Pollard, welcome a new face who has made his way around the league. Six-time 1,000-yard receiver Brandin Cooks looks to find his new home in Dallas. However, defense wins championships and Big D is as good as it’s been since the ‘90s. Finishing second in DPOY voting in each of the last two seasons, superstar Micah Parsons is hungry for that title. On the back side, opposing teams will have to worry about a secondary who has led the NFL in turnovers the past two seasons, the first time a team has accomplished this since the ‘70s Pittsburgh Steelers. Oh, and Dallas added former DPOY Stephon Gilmore to the squad as well.

With expectations at an all-time high, will Dallas finally break their 28-year Super Bowl drought, or will fans be left in despair once again? With Vegas odds at +1500, throw your kids’ college fund on that because the lights have never been brighter in Dallas.
