Commish: Kaidon Salter – QB, Liberty
Salter put up video games numbers against Buffalo on Saturday afternoon, throwing for 344 yards and 5 touchdowns, as the Flames moved to 3-0 behind a 55-27 road win. The dual threat also had a team-high 66 rushing yards and added another touchdown on the ground.
Dom: Tory Horton – WR, Colorado State
Colorado was a 23 point favorite going into last week’s contest, but it took the Buffaloes two overtime periods to knock off the Rams of Colorado State. CSU’s offense was largely reliant on one man to keep them in the game until the very end, and that man was Tory Horton. Horton finished the game with a whopping 16 receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown. That touchdown came in the first overtime period and allowed the Rams to extend the game. Horton displayed excellent awareness and nimble feet when he made a highlight reel grab along the sideline on a drive CSU finished with a touchdown. In a game with national attention, Horton showed that he’s a Sunday player.
Clay: Daquan Evans – DB, South Florida
Daquan Evans stepped up against the biggest and baddest school of them all in Alabama. Evans got to the quarterback for three sacks against Nick Saban’s offense. He totaled up eight tackles on the day with four of them being in the backfield. His defensive effort included one pass breakup, as well. Though they went home with the loss, Evans played one hell of a game against a superior opponent.
Snade: La’Damian Webb – RB, South Alabama
Webb posted an impressive stat line of 18 car/151 yds/2 TD and I don’t care that Oklahoma State isn’t as good as they normally are. Webb walked into Stillwater, took the soul of Cowboy fans, and dipped!
KKarp: Robert Lewis – WR, Georgia State
Georgia State improved to 3-0 for the first time in school history after thumping Charlotte 41-25 on Saturday and Lewis helped pave the way. The RS-junior wide out set a school-record 220 receiving yards on just six catches, including a 97-yard touchdown reception that went down as the longest play in school history.
