Gameday Journal Power Five Players of the Week

Zack: Marvin Harrison Jr. – WR, Ohio State

Dom: Jordan Travis – QB, Florida State

In a week where many top-ranked teams struggled, Florida State took care of business against Duke, in large part due to Jordan Travis. Although throwing for 268 yards and 2 touchdowns is far from his best game, Travis and the Seminoles did what good teams do – they won a game they were supposed to, against a top 25 team. Travis was also his team’s leading rusher, adding 68 yards and a score on the ground as well.

Clay: Bucky Irving – RB, Oregon

Oregon needed a bounce back game in a big way and Irving led the charge. Though he split carries with Jordan James, Irving made the most of his 15 with 129 and 2 touchdowns for the Ducks in a crucial win to stay in the playoff race.

Snade: Dragan Keisch – K, Minnesota

To out Iowa, IOWA is actually impressive and Minnesota did just that behind their kicker! It’s not often that the kicker is a hero (and especially a Minnesota kicker) but here we are. A 4/5 FG performance, accounting for all 12 Gopher points to help lead PJ Fleck’s squad to his first-ever victory vs. Iowa. It was also the Gophers’ first win in Kinnick since 1999!! Bring the pig home Gophs!!!

KKarp: JJ McCarthy – QB, Michigan

The Michigan Wolverines beat down on little brother MSU 49-0 to reclaim the Paul Bunyan Trophy on Saturday night, and their star quarterback became the Heisman front runner as well. McCarthy did his job and was nothing short of productive, throwing for 287 yards and a career-high four touchdowns behind a 78% completion rate. Here’s a look at the current Heisman odds, via Fanduel Sportsbook:

  • Bryson Barnes – QB, Utah
  • Jer’Zhan Newton – DL, Illinois
