Commish: Trevor Etienne – RB, Florida
Florida rode Etienne like a horse against #11 Tennessee. Etienne accounted for 172 yards on 23 carries and a score. The Gators bell-cow was able to put the team on his back and get them back into the mix of the SEC East.
Dom: Michael Penix Jr. – QB, Washington
In a blowout win in East Lansing, Penix Jr. threw for 473 yards and four touchdowns. However, it was his efficiency that makes this performance even more impressive. He put up those numbers on 27/35 passing, averaging a staggering 13.5 yards per attempt. Make no mistake, this is not the same 11-win Spartan team we saw in 2021, but Penix still put together a magnificent showing on the road against a Big 10 team.
Clay: Jayden Daniels – QB, LSU
Boy oh boy did Daniels put the entire LSU offense on his back this week. While throwing for an impressive 361 yards and two touchdowns, Daniels also led the Tigers in rushing with 64 yards and two more scores on the ground. Brian Kelly’s QB takes away the wrong spotlight from him for a second consecutive week, so unfortunately we can’t relive that amazing Kelly GIF again.
Snade: Brady Cook – QB, Missouri
Cook led the charge for underdog Missouri as the Tigers upset #15 Kansas State in dramatic fashion on Saturday. The Tiger quarterback completed 2/3 of his passes for a career-high 356 yards and three total touchdowns. Cook also broke Chase Daniels’ program record for consecutive throws without an INT with 281 attempts.
KKarp: Garrett Schrader – QB, Syracuse
I hate to add a fourth quarterback to this list, but Cuse’s signal caller was simply brilliant in the win over Purdue. Schrader shredded the Boilermakers, turning 25 carries into 195 rushing yards (second-most by a QB in school history) and four touchdowns (school record for rushing TD by a QB in a single game). He also had one of the filthiest play fakes you will ever see:
Honorable Mentions:
- Malik Nabers – WR, LSU
- Rome Odunze – WR, Washington
- Trey Washington – S, Ole Miss
- Harrison Mevis – K, Missouri
- Audric Estime – RB, Notre Dame
- Nic Anderson – WR, Oklahoma
