Gameday Journal Group of Five Players of the Week

Commish: Byrum Brown – QB, South Florida

In an overs dream in Memphis, USF QB Byrum Brown led the bulls in offense with over 450 all-purpose yards and five total touchdowns. Even though it was a losing effort, historical performances like this should never go unnoticed. Both teams’ DCs in this game should’ve been fired immediately on the bus after this track race of a game.

Dom: Jordan McCloud – QB, James Madison

James Madison is 9-0 and played arguably its most complete game of the season this past Saturday with a 42-14 beatdown over then-6-2 Georgia State. McCloud accounted for all six of the Dukes’ touchdowns and racked up 411 total yards on the day. The signal-caller threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns with a season-high 77.8% completion rate and rushed for a career-high 104 yards with two additional scores.

Clay: Greg Desrosiers Jr. – RB, UMass

My oh my, Greg Desrosiers Jr. showed up and showed OUT this week for UMass. On just 10 carries the sophomore racked up 162 yards on the ground and found pay dirt three times in their win over Merrimack. Two of his touchdowns came in the fourth quarter when UMass had just a ten-point lead to start.

Snade: EJ Warner – QB, Temple

Kurt Warner’s son showed glimpses of his father’s former self by posting the most efficient game of his college career this past Saturday in Temple’s 32-18 route over Navy. Warner had a career-high 82% completion rate behind 402 yards and four touchdowns through the air as the Owls snapped a five-game losing streak and earned their first conference win of the season.

KKarp: Bryson Daily – QB, Army

Air Force’s perfect season completely crumbled at Mile High as service academy rival Army and QB Bryson Daily dominated the Falcons 23-3 in Denver. Air Force entered the game with a top-3 rushing defense, allowing just 65.2 rushing yards per game. The Black Knights had other plans, as they put up 217 yards on the ground — 170 of which belonged to Daily, who propelled Army’s rushing attack with 36 carries and two touchdowns.

(Special addition): Jacob Zeno – QB, UAB

Zeno set a UAB program record by throwing for 484 yards and five touchdowns as the Blazers won a thrilling 45-42 shootout over Florida Atlantic. It was the most total yardage and touchdowns by a single player in the FBS in Week 10. A career day like this certainly deserves a nod on this list.

Honorable Mentions:

  • Seth Henigan – QB, Memphis
  • Jason Henderson – LB, Old Dominion
  • Ricky White III – WR, UNLV
  • LaJohntay Wester – WR, Florida Atlantic
  • Nikhai Hill-Green – LB, Charlotte
  • Ike Larsen – S, Utah State
