Dom: Preston Stone – QB, SMU
SMU beat the brakes off of Tulsa Saturday, winning by a final score of 69-10, and Preston Stone showed out in that game. Although he only threw 20 passes, he completed 15 of them for a whopping 371 yards and 3 touchdowns. Stone was as efficient as they come, which explains his 99.5 QBR (yes that’s 99.5 on a scale of 0 to 100). SMU and Stone took care of business, and I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a QBR that high so he definitely gets my vote for player of the week.
Snade: Jarrett Guest – QB, Coastal Carolina
No Grayson McCall, no problem. Many wrote off the Chants as they hosted Marshall this past Saturday, but Guest silenced the haters by having a spectacular night under center. The signal caller threw for 289 yards and 3 touchdowns with only six incompletions as Coastal dominated the Thundering Herd, 34-6, in front of a Homecoming crowd.
KKarp: Cameron Whitfield – LB, Louisiana
The Ragin Cajuns picked up a big bounce back win over South Alabama, 33-20, and Whitfield went ballistic. The RS-sophomore recorded a career-high seven tackles and 3.5 sacks, three of which were forced fumbles.
(Special addition): Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams – RB, UMass
The Minutemen have had a rocky season thus far, but turned things around this past Saturday with a pivotal 21-14 road win at Army while being 10-point underdogs. Lynch-Adams had the game of his life out of the backfield, posting a gaudy 34-234-3 stat line while averaging 6.9 yards per carry. He had career highs in carries, rushing yards, and touchdowns to cap off the day.
