Gameday Journal Group of Five Players of the Week

Commish: Jacob Zeno – QB, UAB

In an over bettors dream, UAB and USF put up POINTS. UAB quarterback Jacob Zeno was brilliant throwing for 353 yards and four touchdowns. Zeno has been throwing the ball all around the field this season and UAB is a fun team to follow and, of course, bet the over!

Dom: Antario Brown – RB, Northern Illinois

In a 55-14 win at Akron, Brown ran for 280 yards and four touchdowns. The most impressive part though, he did it on only 13 carries. THIRTEEN. That’s an average of 21.5 yards per carry. This is one of the most impressive stat lines I’ve ever seen in what was a dominant win for the Huskies.

Clay: New Mexico St. DEFENSE

We love an all-around great and dominant defensive game and the Aggies did just that. The front seven got after it with seven sacks as a total of eight players got their hands on the QB. They also stopped the running game with 10 TFL’s and only allowing 87 yards. Though the secondary gave up over 300 yards through the air, they came away with two picks including one early in the fourth when FIU was about to cut the two-TD deficit in half.

Snade: Kimani Vidal – RB, Troy

Playing against a hot and dangerous Arkansas State team (as of late), Vidal took the air out of the ball and ran them into oblivion! Toting the rock 28 times for 245 yards and three tuddies with his long being a NICE 69 yards, Vidal was able to help keep a potent offense off the field in a dominant 37-3 win for Troy!

KKarp: Devin Grant – S, Buffalo

The Bulls picked up their second-straight win of the season behind a dominant defensive performance that was highlighted by ballhawk safety Devin Grant. The New York native allowed just one catch on five targets and notched a program-record-tying three INT — two of which he took to the crib.

(Special Addition): Malachi Corley – WR, Western Kentucky

Talk about a career day. The Hilltoppers picked up a big conference win over Louisiana Tech on Thursday night and the junior WR was a huge reason why. Corley lit up the stat sheet, catching eight passes for career-highs in receiving yards (207) and touchdowns (3). He’s now ranked 14th in the FBS in receiving yards with 538 on the season.

Honorable Mentions:

  • Jason Henderson – LB, Old Dominion
  • EJ Warner – QB, Temple
  • Ismail Mahdi – RB, Texas State
  • Frank Harris – QB, UTSA
  • CJ Daniels – WR, Liberty
  • Eric McAlister – WR, Boise State
