Brock Bowers is a Bona Fide Top 3 NFL Draft Pick

The Georgia Bulldogs looked flat once again but did just enough to escape Jordan-Hare with a narrow 27-20 win and keep its 22-game winning streak alive this past Saturday. Auburn played a solid game on both sides of the ball and had an answer for UGA for the majority of regulation. They did not have an answer for #19.

Brock Bowers was the anchor of the Georgia offense and was an absolute mismatch for the Auburn secondary, capping off the afternoon with eight grabs for a career-high 157 yards and a game-winning score with 2:52 remaining. In fact, 121 of Bowers’ receiving yards came in the final quarter, including this ESPN Top 10 play.

Big time players make big time plays in big time moments. Bowers has been putting up highlight reel plays like this for his entire career. This performance on Saturday was a gentle reminder that he’s one of the best players in the country. There’s no question about it.

In this day and age, it’s obvious that the Heisman is undoubtedly a quarterback award. However, Bowers reinforced himself as a surefire candidate, especially if he continues to have jaw-dropping performances and Georgia continues to rack up victories over the next two months.

Looking ahead even further, I really don’t see a world where Bowers isn’t a Top 3 NFL Draft selection along with Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr. Perhaps if a team desperately needs an offensive lineman like a Joe Alt, then that will cloud my judgment. But still, he will easily be one of the three best overall players in the upcoming draft.

He’s every NFL scout’s dream boy too.

This dude is 6’4,” 240, built like a brick house, and has 4.50 speed. I realize that Kyle Pitts was a freak athlete and touted as the greatest tight end prospect ever just two seasons ago, but Bowers is making the case to be even more dynamic and promising. Aside from his athleticism and elite open field catching ability, Bowers adds an extra element that Pitts was not known for and that’s excellent run blocking.

He’s one of those players that whenever you turn on a random Georgia game you immediately ask yourself, “where is #19 on the field?” Bowers is arguably the best overall player that Kirby Smart has had during his tenure in Athens so far. If he continues to play at this high of a level, it would be a crime to not have him sitting front row at the Heisman ceremony in December.
